This sparkly and blingy cake was made for Lorna who was celebrating her 40th Birthday. The shoebox is vanilla sponge cake with jam and buttercream filling and covered in fondant. The shoebox was airbrushed gold. The shoe is made from flower paste and was also airbrushed. There are edible sparkly gems on the shoebox and board but they haven’t shown up well in the photo. Happy 40th Lorna.

I definitely got one of my best Customer reactions with this cake. Laura who is celebrating her 16th birthday today wanted a red and white shoebox with a girly high heel shoe on top. Her favourite type of shoes are Jimmy Choo so I attached an edible label on front. She is celebrating tonight along with 45 of her friends so I hope they all enjoy the cake.

A friend of mine requested a shoe related cake for her young daughter who is obsessed with all things shoe. I came up with a Lelli Kelly shoebox with gorgeous little pink shoes with flower detail. This was my first attempt at making edible shoes and it was challenging to say the least but I was happy with the end result. More importantly little Olivia was delighted with it.
